The first true knitting was discovered in Arabia and dates back to the 7th century AD. Knitting is done on two or more needles. Today there is a wonderful array of new yarns on the market. Bright and colorful with wonderful textures. We have many beautiful natural fibers and many interesting synthetic yarns, in addition to different weights, thicknesses and novelty yarns. Yarns today are fun to experiment with by combining a novelty yarn such as fur, with a simple cotton yarn which creates the most beautiful scarf or shawl.

Here at Sit 'N Stitch we can offer you the most relaxing and enjoyable place to come and learn the art of knitting with other creative people. At Sit 'N Stitch you are not limited to just making scarves the possibilities are endless with opportunities such as sweaters, hats, mittens, jackets, handbags, blankets, teddy bear coats and much more once you have mastered knitting.

You are more than welcome to bring your own supplies and take our class or feel free to purchase them here. Type of knitting supplies that are needed include, knitting needles, crochet hooks, yarn, scissors, tape measure, pins and sewing needles, row counter and stitch holders.

Once you have mastered knitting you will enjoy the rewards that it offers not only by having a tangible, beautifully knitted item but you will be more relaxed and enjoy a wonderful pastime.
