Hey, lets make mini pumpkins for your dining room table they are the cutest little things, see picture below. Will knit up a bunch in different colors, felt them and maybe even put some beads on. Class date Monday, September 22nd at 6p with Jane or Friday, September 19th at 6p with Diana. Class is free with the purchase of yarn at shop.



Christmas will be here before we know it so it's time to make a Christmas Stocking. Let's learn some more Fair Isle and with all the socks some of you have made this should be a piece of cake.
Purchase yarn and book at the shop and class is free. Class will be taught by Jane on Monday, October 6th at 6p and Diana on Friday, October 10th at 6p.



It's Tea Time - Lets make a Tea Posey and Mug Cozies this darling little set was designed by Debbie Bliss. The Tea Set is in her Premiere Issue a copy is in the shop for your viewing. This class will be taught on Saturday, October 4th from 1p-3p

Lace - Just about everyone loves lace beginning in February we will be starting "Lace". In "Lace" you will receive beautiful finger weight yarn in Cashmere, Merino, or Silk plus a beautiful pattern. These designs will be absolutely beautiful and you will really enjoy the compliments you'll receive, whether it's at church or synagogue, Hollywood bowl or just an evening out on the town. Lace can be shipped directly to your home or come to the shop for a class whichever you prefer. More information to follow shortly.

Beading - Everyone loves beads, this wrist warmer class is going to be lot's of fun. The pattern is called "Stars" we will use a fingerweight superwash merino yarn and size 8 seed beads. The class instruction is free with the purchase of yarn and beads at the shop. The class will be taught on Monday, October 13th at 6p.

The sock classes have been a huge success so we are going to continue with another year beginning in January and then every other month the 3rd Saturday of the month from 10a-12n. The price will stay the same $37.50/class.

The sock class has been a huge success and everyone is having a wonderful time. The students have completed (3) classes now,the first was the basic sock from head to toe, the second lace and the third was a watermelon sock. All have done fantastic work on their socks and have learned some interesting stitches. The next several classes are going to be a real challenge on your knitting skills and lots of fun.

The first one above is a watermelon pattern using a basic Norling pattern and the second is called the Seduction Sock by Interweave working with the Old Norwegian cast on and RT (Right Twist) we used Luscious by Kollage for this sock.

Students are still dropping in to take this class therefore I think we will just keep going with new yarns and patterns.

Socks Are Walking Club - Are you ready - Don't forget to register before the class starts we can only take 12 people.

The first sock class will begin on Saturday, January 19th from 10a-12n with and Diana. We have some very exciting projects in the works with sock yarns. First learn to knit socks, then learn knitting from the toe up, knitting with beads and then knit two socks at the same time on circulars. The first socks you make will be the yarn of your choice and then you will receive a sock pattern and sock yarn the 3rd Saturday of every other month for that Saturday class (January, March, May, July, September, and November). As a member of the club you will receive the most beautiful sock yarn to make (1) pr. of socks, a sock pattern, a new yarn or color that our customers have not seen in the shop before, a coupon worth 20% that you can use anytime during 2008 to purchase yarn. After completion of the socks their will be prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. The cost for the 6 kits is $225.00 = $37.50 every other month. Some people bought the Lorna's Lace for the first project and we will adjust accordingly. Since this is an exclusive you as a member will not disclose the pattern or any of the particulars for (1) year after completion of the class.

Join anytime - The Great North American Afghan - This afghan is absoutely beautiful it was designed by 24 very talented designers. You can view a picture of it at www.unicornbooks.com, do a search for the title and it will come up. This project will take some time, and you will learn many new stitches some easy and some challenging. This class is the 3rd Saturday of every month from 1p-3p.

You choose your yarns and colors and colors and I will give you 20% off your yarn for this project. Instructor Diana.


We have a copy of the book so you can see what it looks like, I have searched some of the yarns and have come up with Lorna's Lace solid colors that match very well or of course what ever yarn you would like us to order. The Lorna's Lace Yarn will have to be ordered and since it is hand dyed it will take about (6) weeks to get.

After seeing the Great North American Afghan several people wanted to do the The Great American Aran Afghan so we have started this class on the 3rd Thursday of every month from 1:30p-3:30p. If interested please call the shop to register.

Remember the classes are free with the purchase of your yarn at the shop and on this project I will give you a 20% discount.

JOIN ANYTIME

Ongoing knitting/crochet classes that you can join anytime.....There is no class project so you can work on any project of your choice. Classes are (2) hour sessions and you pay in (5) week increments - $10.00/week for 5 weeks, $50.00 total. This format has been very sucessful so we are going to continue it in 2008. Learn not only from your instructor but by students sitting around you that are working on differnt things and are at a different level than you.

These classes are every Saturday from 10a-12noon with either Jane or Diana and Monday's from 5:30p-7:30p with Jane.

Beginning Knitting - Learn the basics of knitting - you'll learn casting on, knitting, purling and binding off. You'll also learn tips for fixing small mistakes and much more. After this class you will be able to make scarves, shawls, handbags and many other fun things. Just call and schedule and appointment with any of the instructors.

Beginning Crochet - Crochet has become very hot and used with knitting projects, i.e., edging on knitting projects for example. Learn the basic stitches, single crochet, double crochet, triple crochet, yarn over and more. Just call and schedule an appointment with any of the instructors.

NEW - CHANGE Alpabet Sampler - The Saturday French Alphabet Sampler class has been expanded! It's now the Sampler class. Design and work on your own unique sampler using some of the great reference books we have available. Or, if you prefer, choose one of the many sampler designs in the store. We've got all kinds - tranditional, contemporary, romatic, whimsical. We've got a fun group of stitchers, and we meet from 10a-12p on the 2nd Saturday of the month with either Cindy or Diana.

Needlepoint - Needlepoint classes are on Monday's 6p-8p or Fridays 1p-3p, Donna DiMarco teaches both beginning and advanced needlepoint You look at these canvases and you say "OK this is the year" here's your chance. Come join Donna and her students on Monday or Friday for a fun-filled time of laughs, working on any needlepoint canvas of your choice. (6) lessons for $90.00 or $15.00/lesson plus the cost of your materials.

This stocking was just completed by Susan Anderson what a beautiful job she did.

Needlepoint for Beginners - Want to learn needlepoint - Have we got the right person for you, Shirlee works Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 10a-5p so call and schedule an appointment with Shirlee, she'll get you going on that new project that you have wanted to start. Learn the Continental and Basketweave stitch, and about different threads and how they can be used.

DROP-INS - STOP IN ANY DAY OF THE WEEK AND SOMEONE IS ALWAYS HERE TO HELP YOU IN BETWEEN CUSTOMERS.

PUNCHNEEDLE - Buy your materials here and we will be more than happy to get you started on your project.

KNOT WORK - Miniature knot work, done in French Knots and Colonial Knots. Learn this technique. It is very easy to learn and makes exquisitely beautiful pieces of art. Purchase your materials here and we will get you started for free.
